LG TEK, vying for being the ITS operator of urban

The companies that would win the order for building the intelligent traffic system of urban highways as on the first construction area (the remaining part of the northern riverside road and the northern main road), in the second stage, the Seoul City is promoting at a scale of 18 billion won, as it has been outlined. The Seoul City accepted proposals from the companies participating at the tender on the last 15th, had the technical evaluations on them, and delivered the results to the Public Procurement Service Office on the 28th. The percentage of technical evaluation is 40% of the total score. Along with management condition evaluation (30 points) and price evaluation (30 points), it is a key criterion in selecting the company. According to the technical evaluation by the Seoul City, Hyundai Information Technology was in the first rank at the score of 86.66, the consortium of LG Technology-LG-EDS System the second by only 0.5 point behind the first, and Daewoo Information System and the consortium of SK C&-LG Electronics the third and fourth respectively. POS Data and the consortium of Samsung Electronics-Samsung SDS dropped out. Considering only the result, Hyundai Information Technology at the first rank is most advantageous for winning the order. However, the gap in between the two tenderizers is negligible and LG TEK is expected to surpass the competitors in a management conditional evaluation. Thus, it is prospected that the competition in between the two companies would get hotter. As the Seoul City delivered the results of technical evaluation to the Public Procurement Service Office on the 28th, the Public Procurement Service Office will perform management conditional evaluation and the price evaluation on the companies that were ranked in between first and fourth in the technical evaluation, and will select one of them in early April. The discussed business is the first large-scaled ITS project ordered in this year, and so is a test case for estimating the trend of ITS market of this year. Following the Seoul City, the Daejeon, Jeonju, and Jeju are currently working on their proposals to order the project of a high-tech traffic model city.
