Participation in Deployment of Gunsan City’s ITS

March 12, 2004 – LG Tek (www.gsNeotek.co.kr) announced that Gunsan City’s Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) project, which have been awarded to a consortium of vendors led by LG Tek, was given an official start on March 5th, 2004 at the Gunsan City’s Traffic Management Center. The project has a budget of 13.3 billion won and is expected to be completed by end of next year. Gusan City’s ITS is the first such system to be implemented in a medium sized city with less than 500 thousand in population. The major elements of the new system include a real time traffic signal management system that improves the traffic flow through major roads in Gusan, a traffic data system that collects, processes and distributes traffic information via PC and Internet to the public, and a city bus schedule verification system that allows people to check the expected arrival time for buses. GS Neotek has emerged as a leader in Intelligence Transport System (ITS) implementation through extensive experience executing such projects as new traffic signal systems for the cities of Seoul, Suwon, and Pohang and ITS deployment for city of Daejon and several major national highways.
