GS Neotek Contracts with Online Shopping Malls to Provide CDN Service GS Neotek (CEO Sung-Jin Choi), a subsidiary of GS Group, announced that it has respectively signed contracts with Interpark and Gmarket, Korea’s major online shopping malls, to provide CDN (Contents Delivery Network) services. CDN services offer a solution to overloaded web servers caused by mass access connections, allowing quick display of multiple images on a page. CDN can be applied to e-commerce websites such as auction sites and shopping malls with a high number of visual content or Internet portals along with comic book websites servicing mainly 2D and 3D content. An official of the company said that CDN can quickly transfer mass content such as photographs and 2D or 3D graphic content allowing users of Interpark and Gmarket to experience a shorter page loading time. The company also explained that the recent two contracts have allowed it to become a major CDN service provider for most of Korea’s major online shopping malls including GS eshop and Lotte.com. 08/31/2005 |
