UCC-Based Platforms on the Rise

By Min-Soo Kim, ETNEWS Reporter, mimoo@etnews.co.kr

A network platform specializing in providing stable and efficient UCC services has emerged.
GS Neotek (CEO I Sung-Jin Choi), an IT service provider, announced on the 8th that it would release “G-Platform,” a network platform specializing in more stable and efficient UCC services.
The G-Platform is characterized by offering one-stop services such as video uploading or converting necessary for UCC services and optimized content delivery. The firm said that the new platform was designed to reduce user traffic by 15 to 20 percent.
Particularly, the G-Platform can offer overall management of the UCC content by solving service-related problems such as heavy traffic control and traffic allocation of the so-called “long tail content” uploaded by many users, using new technologies.
GS Neotek first applied its new G-Platform to Mncast.com (http://www.mncast.com),
a Damoim web 2.0-based UCC service site. Damoim commented that the G-Platform reduced costs and traffic by 15 to 20 percent and operated stable services.”
Vice President Gi-Jung Nam of GS Neotek explained, “Reducing traffic costs and providing stable services are necessary for UCC service firms lacking a stable profit model despite their explosive growth. G-Platform will allow them to improve service efficiency more aggressively and develop a profit model.
GS Neotek is pushing for a plan to apply the G-Platform to BuddyBuddy and Pullbang.com. The company will actively advance into the booming UCC market by using the G-Platform based service.
